• immunofluorescence staining

• Handle radioactive isotopes, chemicals and physical agents

• Maintain detailed written record of work performed

• Perform statistical analysis of experiment results and findings; produce written reports detailing results of experiment and analysis results

• Prepare and deliver presentations at weekly laboratory meetings

• Prepare and publish manuscripts

• Teach and collaborate with new students, fellows, and staff

• Develop new laboratory procedures and techniques related to research study as needed

Job Requirements:

• M.S. and/or Ph.D. and a minimum of 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, molecular biology, or related field is strongly required

• Knowledge of at least one of the following laboratory techniques: Immunoblotting, PCR, cell culture and transfection techniques, DNA manipulation and expression, and cell analysis

• Familiarity with basic laboratory practices

• Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations

• Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to accurately follow experimental protocols

• Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and priorities to achieve desired goals

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
